I am grateful to God for every day that I breathe on my own after needing a ventilator to breathe for me, on life support, 13 times in 2019!
Thank you for visiting my site! I love to craft handmade items such as goats milk soap, resin creations including trays, coasters, unique insulated tumblers etc., as well as create cute, amazing smelling Air Freshies. I also sell other items such as earrings, wristlets, wallets, “motel” keychains and much more!
I am a grateful granny who is thankful for each breath I take on my own. I was put on a ventilator on life support 13 times during 2019. After the 13th time on the ventilator, I was told they couldn’t put me back on ventilator if I had another episode because my airways had too much scarring and narrowing to get the breathing tube through my airway again; I either had to have a tracheostomy or I would have to plan to receive end of life care if I couldn’t breathe again. I told them I chose end of life care if it happened again. I had absolutely, positively refused a tracheostomy all that year throughout my episodes. Thankfully, I had finally received a proper diagnosis of idiopathic angioedema in September of 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic. The Laryngologist there also wanted to place a trach, a newer, different trach than anything available anywhere near my rural home, but I refused. I had accepted my fate whatever that might be. As a born again Christian, I knew that if my time came, I would go to the arms of my Father in Heaven to be with my Savior Jesus should I die and I was ready. But this was not His plan.
After much pleading from my daughter, I finally agreed and had a tracheostomy at the Cleveland Clinic in January 2020 which has helped me from having to be on the ventilator. Only a few weeks later, my daughter discovered she was expecting our youngest granddaughter whom I would have never met if not for my tracheostomy. The Covid pandemic began as well at about this time, something that previously would almost certainly have been deadly for me. But God had a plan and a purpose for me just as He does for each of us.
I continue to battle chronic and acute illnesses but am truly grateful to just be alive, to not be in the hospital and to be breathing on my own!! I want to make the most of the time I have been given, to fulfill His purpose and His plan for me (whatever that may be).
I am so grateful to God and so blessed for the opportunity to make and create!! I receive great joy crafting and work hard to ensure unique items of the highest quality.
